The Comeback Queen

Is there a point in saying I am back? I don't think so! :D  But seriously, sincerely, I am back. And this time for real.  I started out for my MBA thinking about the 2 long years I'll get to be in college, the hike in salary I will get and the chance to sit in a class again. Before I could realize, its all almost over. I sat in classes and slept through some. I got a nice job. I explored sides to me, which I never knew existed. I wasted a lot of time and did some important things. And of course, I met some people, whom I'll treasure forever. MBA hasn't ended and I am already so sentimental. :-/ Anyway, DI tagged me and since I don't remember the last time anyone tagged me, I will gladly take this up and use this tag to update you about my 2012. Not that anyone asked, but, hey, last I remember, that's what blogging was all about! So, here goes.. 1. What did you do in 2012 that you’d never done before?  Appeared on Television thrice! That counts, righ...

So I am Versatile, huh? :)

Yahoooo! The lovely Raksha Bhat from A Canary's Diary has given me this wonderful award! The rules are simple: 1. Express gratitude for the blogger who awarded you this 2. Share 7 random facts about yourself 3. Pass on the award.  So point 1: Thanks for this, Raksha! I am new to your blog, but I am absolutely enjoying my stay there and catching up on reading on all your previous posts too! :) And now on to the 7 Random facts about myself: Random Fact 1: Most of the conversations I have with new people or strangers begin in the exact same way. Always.        Me: Hi. I am X.Y.Preeti. You are? Other Person: What is X.Y.? Me: Yeah. I am a South Indian. So, I have my initials before my name. Family thing. You are? Other Person: You are a SOUTH INDIAN? You don't look like one! At all. Me: Hmm. That's news. And what do we mean by "look like a South Indian" anyway? Hmm? And who the hell are you? Other Person: Arrrey no no. I meant. You know....

Going on 16..

So Celestial Rays passed on a pretty awesome tag that she created - The Things to learn in the near(or far) future’ tag. It sounds like an interesting experiment to write this down, because I am forever making plans in the air about what all I need to do. Maybe, just maybe, documenting it might inspire me to actually go ahead and do some of these things! :-D So my list: Guitar :Here's the deal. I have a Guitar, and I can play it. But, it's no fun playing a song and then watching others cluelessly guess what I played. And getting weird names of songs I have never even heard of. So, I want to learn playing a Guitar properly like a Pro, with Chords and all! Especially Eric Clapton's songs. Okay, that's too much, but I can try, right? Dance : Any form would do. Actually, any method of moving my hands and legs in a manner, even slightly reminiscent of a dance would do, considering how absolutely inept I am at this! Calligraphy : I have been doing Calligraphy for a long...

Forgive Me Lord for I Have Sinned! ;)

So Piyu passed me this tag  ‘My Sins against Gender-Stereotypes’ and frankly, it was way too interesting to let go! Especially on a Friday, when we are in such a jovial mood that nothing, not even Blogger's stupid pranks, can get us down from the  high! :D I must mention here, I am soooper impressed by the creator of this tag. Not only did she just get a bunch of "as girly as we can get" girls to confess to our sins, she also managed to make us enjoy this! For the uninitiated, The tag basically requires us to confess to things we do or want to do which are not in keeping with our gender stereotypes. So here we go: I am an engineer, from a Government Engineering college. We all fight to get a seat there through entrance examinations. Unfortunately,, due to some god forsaken reason, very few girls make it! In a class of 100 students, there were only 15 of us sweet ones of the fairer sex, and I have to say, I was PROUD to be one! And the best part, most of the Department ...

"Boring" as Charged!

Blank. Zero. Zilch. Nothing. In my head, that is. Blame it on the heat, the work, or the sad story of a poor little girl, being made to work in the heat. And by heat, I do not mean normal scorching summer. I mean, 47 degrees, melt in the sun, get tanned sitting in your drawing room type of heat. And since my brain is refusing to work, we decided to brace for this occasion by taking up DI's tag. DISCLAIMER/WARNING: I am a very boring person. If you wish, you can close this window. Right now.   *Peeps out of the curtain to check!* You are still there? Your bad. Don't blame me if you find this post boring. I warned you. On to the tag. The rules need us to tell if we are innocent/guilty for each case.  Asked someone to marry you?  Innocent . Balika Vadhu taught me that child marriage is bad. Thank God for the moral lessons on TV! Ever kissed someone of the same sex? Innocent . *The red cross on the top looks inviting, nuh?* Danced on a ...

Could This BE Any More Sweet? :)

So, the very awesome rocking DI has generously given us an award! Yayy for her! :) And of course, Yayy for the blog and moi! :)  The rules of the award: 1. Thank the person that gave this to you 2. Copy the award and put it on your blog. 3. List 3 things you love about yourself 4. Post a picture you love (e.g a person you adore etc.) 5. Tag 5 people you wish to pass this award on to. On to it! Thank you DI for this very sweet award. If I could, I would pass the award back to you, because I genuinely enjoy reading your blog. A Lot! :) Check Rule 1. The very cute award: Check Rule 2. Now for Rule 3. This was the most interesting part. I have the ability to find humour in all situations! So, deceitful Autowallahs , crowded metros , long waits, my inability to get a driver's license for 2 long years, all find their ways into posts tagged "humour". Best example is of course, the fact that I laugh like an idiot on scary rides in amusement parks. What? I find that funny...

Why is a "Tag" called a "Tag"? Just wondering..

So we finally decided to do the tag that arrived from DI's blog! The rules first: 1. On your blog, provide a link to this page. (http://greatbong.net/book). Embedding the above picture in your blog would be nice but not needed. 2. Then write down your top 10 Hindi movie lines or top 10 English movie lines (You can do both if you want. Only one set is required for the contest). If you cannot think of top 10, make it top 5. Cannot think of even 5? Make it top 3. No problem. Only restriction: no two lines from same movie. This done to make it fair for other movies so that they dont get swamped by Gunda or Loha or Sholay. 3. Tag five friends to do the same. 4. Come over to the comment-space of this post and post your blog’s link so I can go and read it. Remember: Before starting the tag, paste points 1 and 4 on your blog so that the rules are available to anyone who wishes to pick the tag up from your blog. I have never done a tag before, but I am going to make a valiant effort...
