The Delights of Delhi

Delhi is always in the news for all the wrong reasons. Women safety (or the lack of it!),  VIP Traffic, CWG fiasco. Hell, they made a swanky new awe-inspiring airport, and even that successfully crossed over to the negative side thanks to it's extra long corridors. Seriously? Corridors? That's your problem now? Come on. Be nice?  I think what the country needs is a dose of some very good Delhi-isms. Things that would make you fall in love with the city! So here's my compilation of must-do things in Saddi Dilli: Picture Courtesy - The Hindu Culture Curry! - You have missed a lot if you have not delved into Delhi's culture potpourri. For starters, The "Music in the Park" series. This concert by Spic Macay invites some Maestros of music to perform in the splendid Nehru Park, and here's where you'll find the best of Delhites. You can spend an evening of delight in the pleasant months of February and March, sprawled on carpets on the grass, listening

The One Where We Shout Out Loud. HA.

You may find this hard to believe, but I did some serious thinking for this post because I had to tell you something very important. The options I considered: A Serious, philosophical post, something that starts with an Oscar Wilde quote and goes on to describe the Oxford Dictionary definition of "dreams" and "ambitions", etc. Needless to say, the post was neither serious nor philosophical, but downright funny. Result - Discarded. A thought provoking poem or prose. Do I even need to tell you what the result was, considering my best poem is on the lines of "There was a cat, it sat on a mat, played with a bat." You get the picture. A short story on a third person character, which ultimately turns out to be me. I was seriously expecting this to turn out well. But when, from out of nowhere, a blood-curdling scream came in to the climax, I knew I had diverted enough. And so, I decided, I am going to say this the way it is. That is, I will shout at the top

This..

..counts as a comeback post. Because I say so. Did anyone miss me? :D What have I been up to? Well, I have been like the "Deer who doesn't quite get it". What I mean is: Life. Whatever. Before I digress, a huge round of applause for my dear sweet blog! Turned two on 1st March, and created no fuss whatsoever when we didn't wish her. Isn't she sweet? Proper comeback post coming up soon! Till then, Take care! Signing out, Picture Courtesy: Rubes by Leigh Rubin
