Lockdown Shenanigans

Hope the few bloggers hanging around are doing well! :P

I have been doing ok, picking up new hobbies during the lockdown. For instance, I now like running. Who would have thunk I, of all people, would spend an entire Sunday researching the gazillion types of Nike shoes to pick the best one to buy as a reward for doing my first 5k. I did that, yes.

I also used my time to make myself a swanky new website!

(Blogger, I still love you, but I needed to do this for the professional stuff. For all my rants, I will still come to you. You know that, don't you?)

So yeah, I have a new website - www.theonionbrain.com where I talk about all things behavioural science. If you are interested in behavioural science, psychology, product design or marketing, please do subscribe there!

More than anything, I enjoyed the process of creating it from scratch. I should do more such stuff!

Anyway, hope you are all doing well and it's totally ok if you are being unproductive, because God knows we live in stressful times and there's absolutely no need to prove anything to anybody.

If you have been productive, think of yourselves as the lucky ones! :)

Cheers and stay safe,
Preeks

  1. Heyyyy, congratulations on the new website. And the podcast. Way to go!
I also started a podcast recently. I think podcast is the new blogging? Haha.
But it is so bloody hard. I have only one episode so far ~hides face~
By the way, the hyperlink to your website address on this post doesn't take you to the website, I typed the address then went to the website.
Damn cool ya! I am going to binge-read all those articles.
And if you are curious about my podcast, you can check me out on instagram as Advertising Not a Funny Business and on podcast platforms like spotify, apple etc. It is hosted on Anchor.fm.
Do you also have an IG page? I will check.
We could collaborate also one day, some day. Haha. My thoughts are going overboard.
Ok going to your website now.
All the very best for everything.

Letters to the Upparwalla!

(Wow! BlogAdda made my day! :) ) Prologue: I have been SO so SO so lazy, busy and blank, that I stopped writing posts altogether. But then, on reflection, I thought I owed this one to the unseen forces above. Hence, this post! LETTER #1 To The Gods Above, 1, "All Roads Lead to Heaven" Road, Heaven - 000000 15.06.2010 From Un Faithful Earthling Somewhere on Earth - Does the pin code matter? Sir/Ma'am, SUB: Complaint Regarding Services Rendered             This is to bring to your kind attention, the highly unsatisfactory services being rendered to me, not at all in keeping with the Contract signed during my release to the Earth. Further, I wish to register a complaint regarding the following key issues: Interaction With Irritating People : According to Clause 4 of my Contract which you have also signed, it was mutually agreed by both parties, that during my peaceful stay on Earth, my interaction with irritating peo...

The Truant Family!

The low hanging trees were always in demand. As Raji rushed for the nearest one, with her little brother in her tow, she cast a quick glance at the tree to survey the bounty. It was laden with fresh guavas, alright! Pumped, she put her foot on the lowest branch and pulled herself up. Raji had barely put her foot on the next branch, when she felt a tug on her skirt. Feeling a nudge of irritation, she peered down at her four year old brother. "What is it, Appu?" "Where's my guava?" he demanded. "Will you at least wait while I climb up?" She resumed her climb up carefully, so as not to tear her skirt. The trick was to choose the right branches. She had barely moved up one level, when she felt a tug again. She looked around for the nearest ripe guava and hurled it before Appu could speak. She heard his chuckles of delight as he dug into large juicy bites. That settled, she ensconced in a comfortable branch, and began her feast of the large, ripe guavas. S...

Hah, the year end again!

I cannot believe we are at year end again. (I can believe this is the first line of the post, as it is every year these last few years :D) A whole year went by again and I did not blog.  The good news is, I didn't expect to blog here this year at all. Low expectations keep me happy. I did keep writing every once in a while on LinkedIn, but to be honest, I still don't feel the flow I used to.  Back in the day, when blogging was king, around 2009-10, I remember, some of us used to post everyday. Some of comments are literally - firssssst. We would compete to be the first to comment on each others' posts. And now I see only dessert like blogs, with no new content.  I digress, though. I came, as always, to document what my year was like. 2024 has to be the fastest year. We started the year in Bangalore, just moving into a new house which we loved. By March, we were packing bags to move to Hyderabad. Usually there are lofty reasons for such moves - jobs, business etc. We moved...
