Could This BE Any More Sweet? :)

So, the very awesome rocking DI has generously given us an award! Yayy for her! :) And of course, Yayy for the blog and moi! :)

The rules of the award:
1. Thank the person that gave this to you
2. Copy the award and put it on your blog.
3. List 3 things you love about yourself
4. Post a picture you love (e.g a person you adore etc.)
5. Tag 5 people you wish to pass this award on to.

On to it!
Thank you DI for this very sweet award. If I could, I would pass the award back to you, because I genuinely enjoy reading your blog. A Lot! :)

Check Rule 1.
The very cute award:

Check Rule 2.

Now for Rule 3. This was the most interesting part.
  1. I have the ability to find humour in all situations! So, deceitful Autowallahs, crowded metros, long waits, my inability to get a driver's license for 2 long years, all find their ways into posts tagged "humour". Best example is of course, the fact that I laugh like an idiot on scary rides in amusement parks. What? I find that funny too!
  2. I have the silly, uncanny knack of remembering small, maybe not so important, detailed stories and incidents, which a friend kindly pointed out recently, is a cute quality! So there was that b!@#h in 3rd standard who killed my plant, that class party in 4th standard when I first heard that boy use "abusive" language (He called my friend a "gadhi" or donkey!) and the stupid boy who beat me to become prefect in 7th standard. Of course, with this responsiblity comes the huge task of keeping track of all the grudges I have, but kya karein. Karna padta hai! ;)
  3. I have varied interests. By varied, I literally mean "multiple". It goes something like - Books, technologies, coding, sports, movies, English TV shows, shopping, GADGETS, traveling, "Marketing!", photography, cooking, sleeping, quizzing, English(!!), gossip, Music of all kinds (My playlist is weird mix of Alternate rock, Classical music and what not!), Guitar, Politics, business, current affairs and oh, so much more!
Check Rule 3!
The picture below is that of Sakura or Cherry blossoms, that Japan is so famous for. These flowers bloom all over Japan in Spring. Now, when I was in Japan, the blossoms were yet to bloom, except for the rare few impatient ones. We managed to catch one such little guy, and that too in the rain! So here's the picture:

And the last rule! I wish to pass on the award to:
  1. Roshmi - Kind of a Welcome back, get well soon thing! :)
  2. Piyu
  3. Karthik
  4. dilontherocks
Sorry! Cant find 5, but in my defence, DI tagged 6. So, I gave her 1 on loan.. ;)

Cheers!
Happy Me! :)

Edit: I got my Driver's License 1 year back. Its just an old story we often refer to. :|

Yaa, I was saying, that initially while tagging you all, I was explaining why I was passing awards to each of you, so my explanation for you was how funny I found you, AND I mentioned the crowded metro post and diagram! So yay for point 1! :)

Them 90s Things - 1 - iTV Music Channel

Starting a random series of all things from a 90s childhood, just so I have a record of these memories for posterity. Do you remember a channel called iTV?  The 1999 Cricket World Cup was when our extremely middle-class, government quarters colony rose to the challenge of cable tv. Till then, we were happily adjusting our antennas and watching wholesome family entertainment on the two channels of DD1 and DD2. Then came the cable wale bhaiya, with his fancy earring, a few TV guides stacked under his arms along with long ropes of cable, promising unlimited entertainment for the entire colony. And just like that, we all got lured. Cable TV bought with it a lot of changes, many of which I assume will get covered in this series. But, today's post is about 1 particular memory which every 90s kid can relate to. A huge letter I revolving on the TV in anticipation of a new song being chosen. Yep. The iTV generation. Not MTv. It was all about iTV. I still don't know what that channel was

Drumrolls and All That

In crass Hindi, this moment would have been aptly defined as "Laut ke buddhu, ghar ko aaye".  Exact translation would mount to "Fools return home" and that's what this post is. So, after taking a break from work, doing a second Masters, getting a job in Singapore and moving countries, I am back on the blog.  Who would have thunk? An year back, I had no idea this is what I would be doing in an year. But then again, do we know what we will be doing an year from now?  Lesson learnt. No planning, no guessing.  Just keep exploring, keep doing new things, keep learning, keep meeting new people. Things will happen. Trust. Like a fool (who returned home!) So, while I discover this part of my life, Singapore, I thought I need the blog more than the blog needs me. Because moving countries is not in the least as glamorous as it sounds.  There's the whole deal with selling all belongings which you have hoarded lovingly over the years. A

Letters to the Upparwalla!

(Wow! BlogAdda made my day! :) ) Prologue: I have been SO so SO so lazy, busy and blank, that I stopped writing posts altogether. But then, on reflection, I thought I owed this one to the unseen forces above. Hence, this post! LETTER #1 To The Gods Above, 1, "All Roads Lead to Heaven" Road, Heaven - 000000 15.06.2010 From Un Faithful Earthling Somewhere on Earth - Does the pin code matter? Sir/Ma'am, SUB: Complaint Regarding Services Rendered             This is to bring to your kind attention, the highly unsatisfactory services being rendered to me, not at all in keeping with the Contract signed during my release to the Earth.
