The Truant Family!

The low hanging trees were always in demand. As Raji rushed for the nearest one, with her little brother in her tow, she cast a quick glance at the tree to survey the bounty. It was laden with fresh guavas, alright! Pumped, she put her foot on the lowest branch and pulled herself up. Raji had barely put her foot on the next branch, when she felt a tug on her skirt. Feeling a nudge of irritation, she peered down at her four year old brother. "What is it, Appu?" "Where's my guava?" he demanded. "Will you at least wait while I climb up?" She resumed her climb up carefully, so as not to tear her skirt. The trick was to choose the right branches. She had barely moved up one level, when she felt a tug again. She looked around for the nearest ripe guava and hurled it before Appu could speak. She heard his chuckles of delight as he dug into large juicy bites. That settled, she ensconced in a comfortable branch, and began her feast of the large, ripe guavas. S

Happy Birthday to You!

I am very sure you did not wish this guy today. Did you? It's not too late. Let's put our hands together and sing for this awesome, good-looking dude, the one and only Patrick Dempsey aka Dr. Derek Shepherd of the Grey's Anatomy fame! "Happy birthday to you, *Clap clap clap*  Happy Birthday to you,  *Clap clap clap*  Happy Birthday to Patrick aka McDreamy aka Dr. Shepherd  *Clap clap*  Happy Birthday to you! May the Grey's writers always love you, May your eyes always be mysteriously blue, May your crazy hair always look good. Happy Birthday to you! " All ardent fans of Patrick, please repeat after me: "Patrick Dempsey ki Jai" Thank you! Oh, in case you are wondering where to place this post in terms of absolute pointlessness, on a scale of 1 to 10, I will assist in tipping the scales in my favour, by revealing the actual point of the post. Which is that, I share my birthday with this dude above! Woohoo! :D By now, this post is seemingly looki

PS: Thanks to a template change, I lost 45 comments on this post. Fear not. I have those comments somewhere on IntenseDebate.com. Will figure out a way to get them back! :) <<Rant Alert>> I know, I know. My last post was just two days back and it is uncharacteristic of me to post so soon. But like I mentioned above, this is a rant. So, I be excused. It is not fair that I have a bad day *just* because I woke up 10 minutes 45 minutes too late in the morning. It is not fair when I need to be convince my poor little body clock that at 12 degrees maximum and 3 degrees minimum, it still does not get that few extra minutes in the razai. It is not fair that after a mad rush and a fight for the geyser with the maid, I still miss my office bus by 5 minutes. It is not fair that the Auto I take charges me 20 bucks extra because there is no change and well, it is too cold to argue. It is not fair that thanks to frozen hands, I could not feel the vibrator of my phone when a sweet col

The One Where We Decided the Title is Unnecessary

Aah well. So 2010 ended. Nope. I did not do the customary year-end post simply because, as cliched as it may sound, I felt the year zipped by too fast and that my last year's year-end post is about as relevant today as it was back then. Except that I am lazier this year. And hence skipping that little ritual of the round-up post. Touche! Resolutions? Nada. Why? Because, let's face it, there is no point. But here's a list of things I am looking forward to this year: Some clarity on life. And my future. Turning 23. Not looking forward to all the relatives' concerns about the inevitable nuptials. Reading. A lot. At least more than what I read last year. Lots of choti si khushis. A small wish that I hope gets fulfilled this year. Umm. So, it's small when you look at the big picture. The really really big picture. The enormous picture. That's when the wish looks small. Okay, fine. Have it your way. The BIG wish. I still hope it gets fulfilled, though. Bright
