...That I am writing this post.
In 2015, I would have given up on the blogathon at this very moment.
But in 2016, I won't.
So, yes, despite waking up at 4:30 am today to catch a flight to Mumbai, traveling the illogical 60 km to the Bangalore airport (That's right. half way to Agra from Delhi), walking through check-in like a zombie, crashing on the middle seat and not waking up till landing, going through the whole day with my luggage in my tow, and still making it to a friend's dinner treat, and finally reaching the random hotel now, I am typing this on the mobile and posting this. To prove a point, to noone in particular.
The scary part is, this is not uncommon in my life now. Since my wedding last year around this time, I have spent the last one year doing this once a week. Traveling to Mumbai for 2 days, every damn week. I don't even know where I am getting the energy to do this. But, till the last muscle doesn't give up, I won't. So, here we are.
Anyway, why spoil the mood. There are positives to flying frequently. You get to see so much of weird human behavior, with no explanation, whatsover.
For instance, you know the air hostess' announcement as soon as you land?
Over the nearly 70 trips I made over the last one year, I have noticed how the sequence of sentences in the announcement has changed.
It used to be:
- Welcome to Kempegowda International Airport
- Indigo has made another on time arrival
- The temperature outside is 23 deg C
- Please remain seated till the aircraft stops
- You may now use your mobile phones
After a couple of months, I noticed the order changed to:
- Welcome to Kempegowda International Airport
- Indigo has made another on time arrival
- The temperature outside is 23 deg C
- You may now use your mobile phones
- Please remain seated till the aircraft stops
Then when on time arrivals became a rarity, they eliminated that.
- Welcome to Kempegowda International Airport
- You may now use your mobile phones
- Please remain seated till the aircraft stops
- The temperature outside is 23 deg C
Also, who cares about temperature. So:
- You may now use your mobile phones
- Welcome to Kempegowda International Airport
- Please remain seated till the aircraft stops
I really don't get the need to urgently wield out your phone and desperately start searching for network. But people do it and airlines being customer centric, are telling people what they really need to know. Makes sense.
I think by the time I take my next flight, somewhere before landing, the pilot will make an announcement: "We are about to land. Please keep your mobile phones ready in your hand. 5..4..3..2..1. Turn it on, now!"
Mark my words on this one!
I think our future generations will have a field day laughing at our stupid behaviours. But who am I to judge! :)
Off to sleep now. I have shocked myself and all of you enough for the day. Just in time for midnight!
Cheers!

Wow! That is a lot of travelling. You have one foot in Bangalore and one in Bombay! And the difference in the weather, doesn't it mess up with your system? I mean I do one round of travelling for a week, and come back to Delhi with a upset stomach or cold (I have made it a point to eat khichdi when I am not sure of the hotel food hehe).
ReplyDeleteMore power to you for writing this post! :)
I think what I am enjoying the most about this blogathon is reading all my favourite bloggers so regularly. It makes my day!
See, weather can mess up life when you are not used to it. When you travel every week, your body gets used to it unfortunately. :(
