"Boring" as Charged!

Blank. Zero. Zilch. Nothing. In my head, that is. Blame it on the heat, the work, or the sad story of a poor little girl, being made to work in the heat. And by heat, I do not mean normal scorching summer. I mean, 47 degrees, melt in the sun, get tanned sitting in your drawing room type of heat. And since my brain is refusing to work, we decided to brace for this occasion by taking up DI's tag.
DISCLAIMER/WARNING: I am a very boring person. If you wish, you can close this window. Right now.
*Peeps out of the curtain to check!*
You are still there? Your bad. Don't blame me if you find this post boring. I warned you. On to the tag. The rules need us to tell if we are innocent/guilty for each case.
Asked someone to marry you?  Innocent. Balika Vadhu taught me that child marriage is bad. Thank God for the moral lessons on TV!
Ever kissed someone of the same sex? Innocent. *The red cross on the top looks inviting, nuh?*
Danced on a table in a bar? Innocent. I don't dance. To My college friends who are reading this - Go ahead, stab me in the comments section. I know I can't dance.
Ever told a lie? Guilty. Hang on. I'll just call a certain Raja H, to help you out on this one. Duh!
Had feelings for someone whom you can’t have back? Guilty. Umm, I am assuming this includes Patrick Dempsey and George Clooney. They are married, nuh? ;)
Kissed a picture? Guilty. Big deal.
Slept in until 5 PM? Innocent. See, the latest for me was around 1 PM sorts. I am a light sleeper. *Red Cross on the Top*
Fallen asleep at work/school? Guilty. In college, a certain Microprocessors class, after lunch was way too inviting!
Held a snake? Innocent. And eeeeeek, don’t plan to!
Been suspended from school? Innocent. I was a geek in school. So no chance!
Worked at a fast food restaurant? Innocent. I don’t mind working in a bakery though. Maybe I will. Or ooooh, I’ll open my own Chocolatier shop. Don’t worry, you’ll be invited for free testing!
*I just saw you withdraw your mouse from the red cross. Greedy, huh?*
Stolen from a store? Guilty. Finally. One interesting point! Group of friends from school stole a pair of earings from a road-side shop in Greater Kailash. We were so proud of that, we circulated the rings every month. Wonder who has them now?
Done something you regret? Guilty. Who hasn’t?
Laughed until something you were drinking came out your nose? Guilty. But, more often than not, I make others laugh in this manner. :D
Caught a snowflake on your tongue? Innocent. Snow. Sigh. When, God, when?
Kissed in the rain? Innocent.
*Stop threatening and just go close the window. I won’t mind. Really. I’ll just sit here and plot my revenge against you. Go.*
Kissed someone you shouldn’t? Innocent. I am quite sure you had guessed this answer.
Sang in the shower? Guilty. Concerts, in fact.
Been pushed into a pool with all your clothes on? Innocent. Can’t swim for the life of me!
Shaved your head? Guilty. Same as everyone. At Tirupati. This question went and hit the maker of this tag, bang on the face. Splat. All Indians/South Indians have the same answer! Gotcha! :D
Had a boxing membership? Innocent. Would have loved to. Just for a few punches, provided the people I hate also joined with me!
Made a girlfriend cry? Guilty. Hell yeah! Happens, na?
Been in a band? Guilty. What? The school choir doesn’t count? Don’t tell me. There. You shattered my dreams. Happy?
Shot a gun? Innocent
*Sigh. I am touched if you are still hanging in there to reach the end of this post.*
Donated Blood? Innocent. And I am not proud. I am scared of needles and all that blood in packets! But someday, I will.
Eaten alligator meat? Innocent. Shuddh Vegetarian. Eats egg only in cakes.
Eaten cheesecake? Guilty. Especially after that Friends episode of Rachel and Chandler sharing the cake off the floor.
Still love someone you shouldn’t? Innocent. Not in love.
*Whatever. I never forced you to read this.*
Have/had a tattoo? Guilty. I got it free with Boomer when I was in Class 6, I think. Pretty cool it was! ;)
Liked someone, but will never tell who? Guilty. George Clooney would be devastated if I told him. He’s married, na? Bechara.
Been too honest? Guilty. Yeah. I’ve had my share of backfiring for that.
Ruined a surprise? Guilty. This explanation would need a whole post. My sister would back me up here!
Ate in a restaurant and got really bloated that you couldn’t walk afterward? Guilty. Which reminds me, if you live in Delhi, and have not eaten lunch at Andhra Bhavan, your life is a total waste.
Erased someone in your friends list? Guilty. Toh kya hua?
Dressed in a woman’s clothes (if you’re a guy) or man’s clothes (if you’re a girl)? Guilty. Everyone does.
Joined a pageant? Innocent.
Been told that you’re handsome or beautiful by someone who totally meant what they said? Guilty. *Blushing*
Had communication with your ex? Innocent. Arrey baba. Boring I am. Me knows. I don’t have an “Ex” or a “Current”. So, no.
Got totally drunk on the night before exam? Innocent. I have never drunk. In my life.
*That little red cross on the top was made to be clicked.*
Got totally angry that you cried so hard? Guilty. So many times. Sigh.
*Runs behind the curtain and peeps to see if any eggs are being thrown*
I know that was boring, so, for those who dared to stay with me on this one,  there’s a comments section, where you can get back at me. And I am not tagging anyone. Aise Hi.
Signing out,
Kaam aur Garmi ke bhoj ke Maari,
Aapki Apni,
Me!

  9. 47 degrees! My god. Weather in Delhi is so ruthless. It would really take a lot to keep one's cool. Doing this tag would have been a breather from work I guess:) And you never shot a gun? Not even at Mela? Seriously! Microprocessor classes are sleep-inducing I think. Only boring stuff.

  10. George Clooney isn't married yet. So, there is still 'hope' ;)

But he is close to 50 and was reportedly dating Fatima Bhutto a while back. Apart from a slew of cocktail waitresses that is...

Them 90s Things - 1 - iTV Music Channel

Starting a random series of all things from a 90s childhood, just so I have a record of these memories for posterity. Do you remember a channel called iTV?  The 1999 Cricket World Cup was when our extremely middle-class, government quarters colony rose to the challenge of cable tv. Till then, we were happily adjusting our antennas and watching wholesome family entertainment on the two channels of DD1 and DD2. Then came the cable wale bhaiya, with his fancy earring, a few TV guides stacked under his arms along with long ropes of cable, promising unlimited entertainment for the entire colony. And just like that, we all got lured. Cable TV bought with it a lot of changes, many of which I assume will get covered in this series. But, today's post is about 1 particular memory which every 90s kid can relate to. A huge letter I revolving on the TV in anticipation of a new song being chosen. Yep. The iTV generation. Not MTv. It was all about iTV. I still don't know what that channel was

Drumrolls and All That

In crass Hindi, this moment would have been aptly defined as "Laut ke buddhu, ghar ko aaye".  Exact translation would mount to "Fools return home" and that's what this post is. So, after taking a break from work, doing a second Masters, getting a job in Singapore and moving countries, I am back on the blog.  Who would have thunk? An year back, I had no idea this is what I would be doing in an year. But then again, do we know what we will be doing an year from now?  Lesson learnt. No planning, no guessing.  Just keep exploring, keep doing new things, keep learning, keep meeting new people. Things will happen. Trust. Like a fool (who returned home!) So, while I discover this part of my life, Singapore, I thought I need the blog more than the blog needs me. Because moving countries is not in the least as glamorous as it sounds.  There's the whole deal with selling all belongings which you have hoarded lovingly over the years. A
